01The short version

Hey Gaargi is an AI-assisted Vedic astrology chat application made for a global audience that wants accurate, calm, non-prescriptive readings. It was founded in 2024 by a small team of engineers and designers steeped in jyotiṣa tradition who felt the existing astrology-app market had drifted toward gimmicks and away from the craft. We wanted to build something a serious student of jyotiṣa would respect — and that a curious newcomer could trust on day one.

02What we do

Hey Gaargi computes your Janma Kuṇḍalī (D1 birth chart), divisional charts up to Ṣaṣṭyāṁśa (D60), daśā timelines (Vimśottarī, Yoginī, and Aṣṭottarī), transit predictions, and compatibility readings. Conversations happen in a familiar chat format — you ask, Gaargi computes, and the answer is grounded in a verifiable chart. We show our working: every prediction is accompanied by the calculation that produced it, so you can audit the chain of reasoning. Calculations follow Parashari principles with Lahiri ayanamsa — the classical system taught and practiced by the majority of jyotiṣīs today. We do not yet offer readings in other systems such as KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) or Nadi astrology; we would rather tell you plainly than blend traditions behind the scenes.

03How we're different

• No fear-based selling. We will never tell you a kāla sarpa yoga is "destroying your life" so you'll buy a remedy. Readings are descriptive, not coercive.
• Show the math. Every chart, daśā, and transit is computed transparently. Tap any conclusion to see the planetary positions and aspects it rests on.
• Calm by design. No flashing offers, no countdown timers, no "your stars are angry" notifications. The app respects your attention.
• Astrology, not astrology-shaped marketing. We do not sell gemstones, yantras, or pūjās. We offer readings; what you do with them is your decision.

04Who is "Gaargi"?

Gārgī Vācaknavī was a philosopher of the Vedic period — a scholar who, in the Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad, questioned the sage Yājñavalkya about the nature of the universe with rare precision. We named the app after her because that is the conversation we want with our users: rigorous, curious, willing to follow a question wherever it leads.

Hey Gaargi is not a substitute for a doctor, a lawyer, a chartered accountant, a financial advisor, or a licensed therapist. Astrology, in our view, is a beautiful and ancient framework for understanding patterns — it is not a prescription.
